Ciudadanos denounce aggression against a councilor of his party in Girona

Sergio Atalaya, councilor in Blanes would have received the impact of an object during an act of his party in Torroella de Montgrí

The councilman of Cs in Blanes (Girona) Sergio Atalaya has been wounded this Saturday in an act of the party in Torroella de Montgrí (Girona) by an object, apparently a can, which allegedly has been thrown at him by people protesting against the presence of members of the party in the locality.

According to the spokesman of Cs in the Parlament, Carlos Carrizosa, a group of pro-independence people has surrounded them and among the objects that have been thrown at them, one of them has impacted the councilman's face "and has opened his nose bleeding profusely and leaving him for a few moments stunned on the floor".

Textos de Twitter:
Neither the insults, nor the threats, nor the coercion, nor the aggressions will silence us in the defense of the liberties and the rights of all citizens. Let the radical and violent separatism know that they are not going to restrict our freedoms.

Brutal aggression in Torroella de Montgrí to Cs Councilor Sergio Atalaya when CDRs convened by Quim Torra have attacked several councilors and members of the most voted party in Catalonia.
This independence movement is fascist totalitarianism.
----
This is what our comrades in Girona have to suffer for supporting democracy in Catalonia while President Sánchez looks the other way and tries to agree with those who do not guarantee liberties or rights in Spain ", criticized Carrizosa.

Along with this unfortunate event, Ciudadanos has filed a contentious administrative appeal against the same municipality for having denied them permission to install a tent in a public space, a fact that they value as a violation of fundamental rights. The party was scheduled to hold a meeting with the members of the municipal group and put an information point. Carrizosa has denounced "arbitrariness" in the decision of the consistory that, as he said, has allowed to occupy the road to other political parties.

Members of the party visited the municipality this morning and have been rebuked by a hundred people from anti-fascist movements who have tried to prevent the act.

"Today the intolerant have concentrated to force us out of town and  to make some of our fellow citizens feel strangers," lamented Carrizosa, adding that in Torroella de Montgrí his party was the most voted constitutionalist force with more than a thousand votes during the autonomous elections of the 21-D. And he added that "even the last town of Girona is as Spanish as the Avenida de la Castellana in Madrid", claiming the right to demonstrate.

The hostile reception has been carried out by a hundred people called by the Collective La Forja-Baix Empordà and the Board for Freedom of the municipality. They carried banners in favour of the return of political prisoners and with the face of Dolors Bassa, born precisely in this municipality, as well as another one where you could read "Out with fascists from the Empordà, Cs is not welcome".

The concentration had begun in the square 1-O but then it moved about 300 meters to the Plaza Quintana and Combis, the place where Citizens planned the event. Four vehicles of the Mossos and a score of agents of the ARRO have tried to avoid confrontations.

Towards midday, with the arrival of Carrizosa, the tension has risen again and the protesters have rebuked and insulted them while the police escorted them when they went up the street. Some protesters have sat on the ground to avoid the passage of police vehicles.
