He studied economic history, sociology and literature in Federal Republic of Germany and Canada, and received his doctorate from the Complutense University of Madrid. He has been very active in social movements and spaces of the Spanish left and researched in the fields of democracy in the company (for example "Democracy in companies", HOAC, Madrid 2000), political sociology ("Left and republicanism, Akal, Madrid 2008) and criminology ("Delinquency, finance and globalization", CIS, Madrid 2013). He is currently a Full Professor at the Complutense University of Madrid
