ACTIVITIES

Ensured Pluralism

ProU includes members who reflect existing political diversity within Catalan society (and Spanish in general), who share the above principles based on working within the law, and who consequently have agreed to collaborate in the dissemination to the international community of verified information as well as in the drafting of (signed) opinions, based on such principles.

Items for disclosure to Personalities, Social Influencers and International Media
  • Issuance of verified and/or signed information highlighting any action in Catalonia that threatens or questions democratic and European values (e.g. Acts limiting rights of citizens in Catalonia, limitations of ideological pluralism in Catalan public media, attempts at controlling local police by political authorities).
  • Dissemination of proposals for positive solutions to the situation in Catalonia (solutions of any nature as long as they are law-compliant), in order to enrich the debate, without having ProU take an explicit stand of any nature).
  • Articles of opinion (signed) on related topics.
  • Digital marketing campaigns on social networks divulging the aforementioned contents.
  • Collaboration with political and social influencers in the European Union, the U.S.A and other countries, as well as with digital journalists.
  • Main content Items:

- Evidence of violation of European and Constitutional values

- Upholding of key European values: rule of law, separation of powers, free press, respect for individual rights above “national”, condemnation of xenophobia and exclusion)

- Defense of reform through constitutional mechanisms

- Leaving public education out of politics

- Ensuring the use of public media and language is never an instrument of separation nor manipulation.

Approach

ProU ´s activities are structured on the basis of four key drivers

International "targets"
  • ProU distributes content (verified information and signed opinions) to key personalities, social, political and diplomatic influencers, mainly international, who periodically publish such contents relevant to the association's mission, in turn via different channels (direct, email, social networks: e.g. twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)

Content Contributors
  • ProU relies on one side on a list of contributors in terms of both written and video digital content and on the other, on content sourced from the generalist press and published sources, always respecting our commitment to pluralist principles.

Digital Information Campaigns
  • Campaigns are entrusted to communication professionals, who are financed directly by third parties. Digital marketing campaigns requiring funding are contracted and paid directly by third party donors to professionals who execute the campaigns. Similarly any on-going services which could require funding (e.g. the maintenance of the web page and relationship management with clients / users) are also funded directly by donors to service providers.

Voluntary nature of ProU collaborators
  • All direct collaboration activities to pursue the goals of ProU is voluntary. ProU itself receives no funding of any kind.
