The coalition is presented as
"the voice of nations without a state" in the fight against a
European model "given to capital"
Faced with a
"Love for Spain" that "denies" them and opposing "the
democratic involution", BNG, EH Bildu and ERC re-edit the old formula of the
Europe of the Green Peoples in the elections of 2009 which
failed again in its attempt of 2014. The candidates of the three sovereignty parties of
Galicia, Basque Country and Catalonia have presented this Friday in Santiago de
Compostela (Galicia) their renewed alliance and have claimed the right to
decide for all peoples and condemned a State "that chains and persecutes
its political opponents".
Under the name of "Now Republic", the
coalition of the nationalist left is committed to be the voice of "the
nations without State" in the fight to reach "more just and
egalitarian societies" at the same time as to fight "against a model
of Europe sold out to the banks and the big capital ", in the words of the national spokeswoman of BNG, Ana Pontón..
The alliance, self-defined as republican, feminist
and of the peoples, is presented as "the best way" to respond to the
political moment, "adding sovereignty forces against both Madrid and
Brussels." A "collaborative tradition of the three nations against a
Spanish state that does not accept the right to decide freely and
democratically", as highlighted by the candidate of EH
Bildu, Josu Juaristi.
In the same
sense, the candidate for ERC,
Diana Riba, has defined the
option as the one for "all those who want to rebel against a state that
chains and persecutes its political opponents and whoever calls into question
its conservative, retrograde and indissoluble model".
Just two days
after the leader
of Anova, Xosé Manuel Beiras, suggested that
his party (integrated in the instrumental party of En Marea) should be added to
this project, Ponton, who has served as hostess in the act of presentation,
referred to the work done in this last term by the MEP of the BNG, Ana Miranda,
who repeats candidacy, to emphasize that "she did more than all the
Galician representatives in the European Parliament together" on issues
such as "the defense of the Galician estuaries and the initiatives about
justice to be done with the victims of the Alvia".
