Torra says that the Constitution is "a prison" and will fight to liquidate it

Despite being 'imprisoned', the president of the Generalitat announces with total freedom that he will not go to the 40th anniversary events and that he will make every effort to raise a republic.

Obviously, Quim Torra was not expected to celebrate the anniversary of the Constitution in Madrid. Yes, on the other hand, some unpleasant remarks against the Magna Carta were awaited. And the outbourst was immediate!

The president of the Generalitat has sent a letter to the president of the Congress, Ana Pastor; the president of the Senate, Pío García-Escudero, and the Government delegate in Catalonia, Teresa Cunillera, in which she refuses to attend the commemorative events of the 40th anniversary of the Constitution.

"The Spanish Constitution is no reason to celebrate in Catalonia, and for years now, more than a window to democracy, it has become a prison for freedom of expression," he argues in the letter, collected by Europa Press.
