Around 600 witnesses will parade the next months by the Plenary Hall of the Supreme Court in the trial against the 12 independentist prisoners.

An ex-president of the Government, his former vice-president, a former minister, the president of the Catalan Parlament, the Lehendakari, two mayors of Barcelona, an expresident of the Generalitat or the previous dome of the Mossos d'Esquadra will be some of the illustrious witnesses of the trial of the procés '

The political positions abound in the list of around 600 witnesses who will parade the next months by the Plenary Hall of the Supreme Court in the trial against the 12 sovereignist leaders.

Some belonged to the Executive of Mariano Rajoy -including him- but above all the majority are the names of Catalan politicians, between national and regional deputies, consellers and other Parliamentary positions.

Also noteworthy are the high police commanders, particularly the Mossos, such as Major Josep Lluís Trapero and his then superior Pere Soler (both accused of rebellion in the National Court) or the replacement of the first in the Corps Ferrán López.

The Chamber that will prosecute the facts has accepted the 256 witnesses of the Office of the Prosecutor and the Legal Profession and a good part of those proposed by the defenses and Vox, popular accusation.

Among those absent, the ex-president Carles Puigdemont and the general secretary of ERC, Marta Rovira - both fugitives from Justice - stand out, who can not testify as witnesses, with an obligation to tell the truth, when they are being prosecuted for the same acts.

Neither will King Felipe VI or the head of the Casa del Rey, Jaime Alfonsín; nor prominent international intellectuals such as the linguist Noam Chomsky or the historian Paul Preston; the ex-secretary general of the PSOE and former minister Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba; and the current spokesman of the PP in the Senate, Ignacio Cosidó.
