Torra should know that if the 'procés' began as an extravagant denial
of reality, it does not have to surprise us if its outcome follows the rules
of the same genre of farce.
A few days ago our vicarious president sentenced: "The trial is a farce" (short theatrical piece that satirizes the ridiculous and grotesque aspects of certain human behaviors). And he does not lack reason, although Torra should know that if the 'procés' began as an extravagant denial of reality, it does not have to surprise us if its outcome happens under the same theatrical genre: he and his people did chose the language.
If the farce was born, like almost everything, in the pre-Christian Athens, the Spanish Golden Age consecrated, with the picaresque novel, the character without resources who, using his ingenuity, sacrificed any moral principle to achieve his objectives. This figure perfectly defines the 'murri' [vagabond] Puigdemont and his people when, as if by magic, they decided to convene a referendum of confetti and proclaim the republic of Philip VI, assuring that God and the free world is with them, just to, immediately after, run away very fast denouncing Europe as a traitor. The most consistent among them handed themselves to justice.
The big lie, the enormous conceptual trick of the 'procés' was to interpret the resounding European reprimand in the face of the anachronistic police violence of the 1-0 as a tardy and repentant support for their parody. That later local and international criticism poured down on the Spanish Government and its justice due to the excessive preventive prison or to the astronomical punishments requested
for the Catalan politicians does not legitimize in any way the pro-independence side to continue with its tiresome theater of the absurd. That a part of the current Spain stinks should not have invited them to emulate it symmetrically for the worst.

The last audacity of the rogues is to deny the bread and the vote to the tightrope walker Sánchez, pretending to ignore his delicate situation, in order to bless a predictable tripartite Citizens-PP-Vox. Are they masochists? or are the unconstitutional extremes touching each other? Time and again "the worse the better", inflicting with their misrule (they are always walking around Brussels) an immense disservice to the population. Country or Death? We know from experience that individuals and groups whose ideological strength exceeds the strength of their intellect are highly dangerous.
As also are the thuggish mistreating of prisoners during their transfer to Madrid, the grotesque prohibition of entering yellow objects (will it be necessary to paint the lemons?) or the satirical weekly 'El Jueves' in Soto del Real, or the final touch (cow shit) of the public prosecutor of the National Audience Pedro Rubira, who, almost a wax figure and with cavernous voice, has put in doubt the impartiality of the Catalan justice because its sexual contagion with the ETA reality (Casado 'dixit') in which it lives immersed. Let’s hope that the farce, all farces, do
not end in drama.
