Judges who criticize the 'procés' from anonymous accounts in networks, Anonymous' goal

A group of Catalan hackers is revealing the identities of the judges who hide behind some of the most popular and critical accounts with the independence movement in social networks.

Revealing who hides behind an anonymous account has become a common practice in the battles that are fought in social networks. The last one to join this type of action has been a group of Catalan hackers that since January 14 is dedicated to uncovering the identities of those responsible for some of the most critical anonymous accounts with the 'procés'. They do it from a Twitter profile in which they are presented as members of Anonymous, the international movement of cyber-activists that has attacked all kinds of institutions worldwide, and for the moment they have already revealed the names of three judges who supposedly manage opposing profiles. to the independence movement

Since the members of Anonymous never show their true identity, it is difficult to know to what extent the group is after some of the attacks claimed in their name. Anyway, the account from which the action is being carried out is followed by groups like 'La Nueve', which claimed to have 'hacked' the Vox servers last December, or 'Nama Tikure', which is also considered part of Anonymous, which suggests that those responsible for this last operation also have some kind of link with the movement.

It is not the first time that members of Anonymous organize attacks in favor of the Catalan independence movement. In September of 2017, in full controversy around the illegal referendum convened by Carles Puigdemont, they launched a cyberattack campaign against Spain under the title 'Operation Free Catalonia'. In a video allegedly published by activists of the group, the Spanish government was labeled a "fascist" and the secession of Catalonia was defended as a "right of self-determination", ensuring in this sense that preventing the consultation involved a "violation of civil rights" .

As part of this campaign, Anonymous managed to block the website of the Constitutional Court in October 2017 for several hours. The hackers knocked it down with a method known as denial of service attack (DDoS), which saturates the server in which the web page of access requests is hosted, so that it ends up being blocked. Shortly after, the movement used this same maneuver against other pages such as those of the Popular Party, the Francisco Franco Foundation, the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Development, and even against others whose relationship with the independence process was more difficult to establish, such as Banking March or the General Directorate of Civil Protection and Emergencies.

The situation reached such a point that the Department of National Security (DSN) confirmed the computer threat posed by these groups of 'hackers', pointing in this regard to several state websites had received different cyber attacks in the framework of the campaign' Operation Free Catalonia ': "The' hacktivist 'group Anonymus, through associated Twitter accounts, is announcing a massive cyberattack campaign."

The Catalan hackers that now star in this latest operation have also carried out other actions in favor of the independence movement in recent years. Last September, when the newspapers 'El Món' and 'eldiario.es' brought to light dozens of private couriers of the judiciary speaking of Catalonia, messages in which they talked about the "virus of hatred inoculated in Catalan society" and it was said that "with the coup plotters neither negotiate nor dialogue", the journalists opted to hide the identities of the judges, opportunity that the group did not let pass: that same day they announced that they would reveal their identities.

A few days before the start of the 'proces', these 'hackers' return to the burden against the judiciary and put the spotlight on some of the most critical accounts of the independence process.
