Although theoretical models had already been studied around communication in the early twentieth century, especially in American universities (Harvard, Illinois), which strongly influenced European universities (remember the Prague Linguistic Circle influenced by Jakobson), was Nazism who deployed not only in theory but in practice, the communicative models that best served their ends (Goebbels points are the order of the day in many areas). Let's take it into account, because although, in theory, the model can be followed by different policies, it has always been successful when what has been tried is to reinforce supremacist theories, exacerbated nationalisms and so on.What has changed? Well now the dissemination of messages has been "democratized". Anyone can intervene in social networks, which is, initially, positive. The problem appears when that communication seeks confrontation or manipulation, which happens very often nowadays. And in that the amount has been imposed to the communicational quality. That is why the "neo-language" has been imposed, distorting the concepts and calling us to adopt positions that have nothing to do with reality but respond to a well-studied manipulation. One of the last concepts that are not of receipt, but that have a great reception in certain sectors of the constitutionalism, even, is the one to assure that we are before "a conflict between Catalans".
Well, look, we do not have any conflict between Catalans. We are facing a conflict between the constitutional citizenship (of Catalonia and the rest of Spain) and the totalitarian supremacism of secessionism on the part of the Catalan political leaders, who manage, through the worst (or best) manipulative tactics to make believe, their own and part of the rest, there is a problem between Spain and Catalonia.
Let's make things clear. Citizen constitutionalism can not be represented by the rancid supremacism distilled by the politicians of secessionism, both from Waterloo and from the internal institutions controlled by them, with the applause of populism. All this has its connections in the "exterior of Catalonia", both in the rest of Spain and in other places in Europe and the world. Therefore, we must say that there are no two ways of understanding Catalonia that are in conflict. The conflict takes place when, in Catalonia, the social secessionist minority imposes its institutional majority on the whole of the citizenship and, moreover, pretends that this is the model that the rest of Spain, and of Europe, makes its own.
Why has a part of constitutionalism "bought" this story of the "conflict between Catalans? The answer is very simple. In the absence of having valid answers to what is happening, deriving the problem to others, allows us to avoid responsibilities. If the problem is "the Catalans", let them solve it. Frankly, although we know that facing the difficult wears, that "theory" has been mentioned, that I know once, but once it is enough, by the President of the Government of Spain, shows clearly the ineffectiveness of its policy. Not only with respect to Catalonia, but throughout Spain. Let's say it loud and clear.
There are not two Catalonias. Catalonia is both ours, of constitutionalism, and of them, of secessionism. I say more. It is more ours than of them, because they pretend to banish from Catalonia what reason, democracy, the rule of law and fundamental rights have shaped over the last decades. Legitimacy is on our side, not theirs, based on lies and the manipulation of concepts. So, gentlemen of secessionism, gentlemen of complex constitutionalism, stop rhetoric that does not resist any serious analysis.
