Nothing new - In democracy there is a space for shouting and protest; but to the Parliament or the parliaments, the representative institutions of the sovereignty of the people, correspond to solve political problems politically.

Nothing new. Demonstrators in Madrid against the pro-independece procés in Catalonia. Demonstrators in Barcelona in favor of the pro-independence Catalan procés. Nothing new. The demonstrations reflect already known positions. For a long time. Firm, convinced positions; in some way castled. They are the externalization of a problem; not the solution to the problem. The demonstrations only reveal the existence of a problem; They do not solve it. Sometimes, they complicate it; but in no case and never serve to solve the problem. It is not its purpose. Nothing new.

But the problem is there. Exists. A living problem that the beginning of the sessions of the oral trial before the Supreme Court makes more present, more incisive, more disturbing and, for many, even, more distressing. Demonstrations, in one way or another, do not solve the problem; the trial either.

Justice follows the path that politics has entrusted to it, incapable of giving political solutions. Protesters or judges are transferred to a responsibility that does not correspond to them. The institutions of the democratic State are marginalized, the parliaments are extinguished, politics remains silent. Or it becomes the refuge of insult, of disqualification, of simplification, of impotence.

An image gives the answer. President Trump - the criticized and ridiculed Trump - entering the House of Representatives of the United States to make his speech on the state of the Union. The whole House - Democrats and Republicans -, with its president, Mrs. Nancy Pelosi, in front, receive it standing up and applauding. The president of the United States entered, not only Mr. Trump, and all the congressmen show him their institutional respect. With this gesture, the Congress accepts the institutions but at the same time claims for them the protagonism of solving the problems that the Americans suffer.

The Congress tells citizens that they can demonstrate, they can scream, they can criticize, they can mock and laugh at their president, but the solution is for them, the congressmen. That they are the ones who will discuss, negotiate, transact on the problems of the people, and that only they will be able to give solutions. Respect the institutions and we will be able to work for you!

In democracy there is a space for shouting and protest; but to the Parliament or the parliaments, the representative institutions of the sovereignty of the people, correspond to solve political problems politically. And the more difficult and serious the problem, the more political leadership will have to be dedicated. We are starting a very complicated stage; the street will not solve it. Justice, by itself, either. It will do what corresponds, but the problem transcends it. It is the institutions of sovereignty that have to speak, they must lead the straightening. This is the only democratic space in which the word becomes a pact, discrepancy makes agreement possible, coexistence gives meaning to renunciations. The Constitution marks the way. Even for those who want to reform it. Apart from politics, the problem will not be solved.

Nothing new. This comes from far. We know it very well.
