Spanish government renames Barcelona's airport after Catalan President in exile during Franco era.

The present  Spanish government has announced it will rename Barcelona’s airport after Josep Tarradellas (Catalan President in exile during Franco’s dictatorship and first president of the Catalan government after his return from exile) displeasing present day  Catalan pro independence  President Torra.  The reason is; Tarradellas was not only a moderate defensor of Catalan self-rule within the Spanish New Democratic regime but also extremely critical of Jordi Pujol (founder of Torra’s party CDC and Catalonia’s 2nd President) as exemplified in the letter he published in La Vanguardia the 16th April 1981 in which he accused Pujol  of “stirring the nationalist grievance pot” in order to fish for support for Catalan nationalism based on mostly artificial issues.
