What leadership for Catalonia? Is not a better project for Spain a European and plurilingual, civic and inclusive nation, than that of being a rancid plurinational State, composed of juxtaposed ethnolinguistic uniformities ill-avenged?

It is not written anywhere that all crises require the same type of leader. The virtue of the transactional leader is prudence; that of the transformational leader, the enthusiasm. The tendential defect of the first is the delay; the second, messianism. Sometimes, in short, it is the quiet transaction that is convenient. ….

The paradigm:.. the Catalan problem has no solution (can only be carried out)…or  …. it is convenient that Catalonia is governed by Catalanism under nationalistic parameters. But the disloyalty of one of the actors, precipitated in the coup last October, disrupts this doctrine. Since then, the old actors, bewildered, brave to try to reach the calm waters of the past. You have to do politics, they say. Which means you have to do the same policy as always: come to a transaction with the first Catalan nationalist leader to loosen the piston, grant him a quota of supplementary power - the identity competencies or the economic concert - and leave the problem fixed for. .. the "next twenty years".

I consider this wrong way of thinking ... first, to reproach the Government for an immobility that is not such, but rather the exhaustion of the transactional formula …..  the process has politically activated a vast part of the voters that penalize any transfer to the nationalists. Above all, because..., the conflict is not between Catalonia and the State, but between the Catalans. And that being the problem - that of two communities facing each other ... The solution is a sharing of internal power between the two…..What is needed is a better representation of the constitutionalist parties within Catalonia, and that requires changes in the autonomous educational and cultural policies in the oposite direction  that  nationalists claim….
